TO THE EDITOR:

While I am no longer a resident of the Harris, Sunrise, North Branch area, I am connected by family and friends. Through the years, I followed the news in the area and am chagrined at the changes that have taken place in local politics of elected officials and concerned citizens. The conflicts of interest over land sale and recent replacement of one employee by three employees on the Harris council certainly prove to be an embarrassment for all concerned.

The inability to get a larger grocery store to come to the North Branch area, the Green Acres land fiasco, plus the general question of who was involved and why decisions
were made concerning property buys made by the town of North Branch cause concern for the elderly and the tax payers.

Before you take me as a total crank, I still visit the area and enjoy the benefits of living away from ìbig cityî problems. But those problems are creeping into the area and I hope the communities affected will begin to practice patience, civility, and honesty.
