Duane H. McCall
Duane H. McCall, age 67, of Rush City, Minn., died Aug. 27, 2006 at home, surrounded by his family.
Duane was born Sept.13, 1938 in Onida, SD. He was preceded in death by his mother Elsie. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 48 years and their four children, Duane (Sandy) McCall of Vadnais Heights, Mark (Chris Eberhardt) McCall of Rush City, Joan (Keith) Goettl of Rush City, and Craig (Margie Jevne, fiancÈe) of Rush City. Five grandchildren, Brett, Bryan, Brittany, Kevin and Cory McCall. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Joanne and husband Duane Goldammer and their children, Duane (Joanie) Goldammer, Danny (Becky) Goldammer and Carolyn Goldammer.
Duane worked for Hancock-Nelson for 25 years and Universal International for 16 years, retiring in 2002. He lived in the Twin Cities area for 33 years before moving his family to Rush City in 1971.
Duane enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan He looked forward to his annual fishing trip to Canada and the annual cribbage tournament at Rush Lake Resort. He had a passion for tinkering and racing cars in his late teens and early twenties. He also enjoyed attending car shows and races as a spectator. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his friends. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his wife and children.
Pastor Laurie OíShea will officiate at memorial services Thursday Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City. Music will be provided by organist Dianne Kirchberg and soloist Brittany Lee Aultman. Inurnment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City. A visitation is planned for Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Olson Chapel in Rush City.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City; Olson Chapel.
