Lawrence Edstrom
Lawrence "Larry" Edstrom, age 85, of Princeton, Minn., died December 3, 2006.
Larry was born on March 6, 1921 in North Branch, Minn., to Albert and Mabel (Olson) Edstrom. He grew up and attended school in North Branch. Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force in the 1940s. He served as an Air Force Pilot during WWII and retired as LT. COL. in 1970.
He married Betty Norberg on March 25, 1950 in Minneapolis, Minn. The couple lived in numerous places during his military career including: Canada, Africa and many places throughout the United States.
Larry enjoyed flying planes, fishing, hunting, golfing, and bowling. He was a kind man, true friend, loving husband and great father. He will be deeply missed.
Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty; children: Deborah (John) Gearhart; Todd (Arlene) Edstrom; Laurie (Kevin) Meyer; Scott "Chip" (Sandy) Edstrom; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his brother: Kenneth (Alice) Edstrom and by many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his 7 brothers and sisters.
Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home in Princeton.
Funeral Service was 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home. Pastor Angie Way will officiate.
Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton.
Casket Bearers: Larry's grandchildren: Jessica Huntress, Matthew Huntress, Christopher Huntress, Kaylee Gram, Lawrence Meyer, Adam Edstrom and Holly Edstrom.
Arrangements were with Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home.
