RC surrenders at home

The Rush City girls basketball dropped its third game of the year to Ogilvie 58-37 at home on Dec. 7.

Poor shooting hurt the Tigers against Ogilvie. The girls took 57 shoots and made only seven.

"You're not going to win many games when you're shooting like that," head coach Jeremy Albright admitted. "Even though the ball refused to go in the basket, the girls kept fighting."

From the free throw line things didn't look much better. The girls were 8-21, or 38 percent.

Senior Derra Gullickson led the team in scoring with 11 points. She also had six rebounds and four steals. Senior Amber Hoffman added six points and seven rebounds.

Turnovers didn't help the girls cause. The committed 27 on the night.

The girls shooting was off but they did manage to make three pointers. They shot 62 percent from beyond the arc.
