Center City man dies from accident

Icy roads are believed to be responsible for a single-car crash that resulted in the death of a Center City man this week.
According to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, Joshua James Green, 30, of Center City, was traveling eastbound on County Road 20 in Shafer Twsp., the morning of Dec. 14, when his pick-up truck lost control near Quinlan Ave. Sheriff's Lieutenant Steve Pouti believes that the vehicle entered the south ditch, came back out, and crossed into the north ditch before the truck rolled over, at least twice.
Green was ejected from the vehicle.
There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident, but the presence of a child car seat in the truck had law enforcement searching the ditch for a time looking for other possible victims.
Green was air-lifted to Regions hospital where he underwent surgery before being listed in serious condition. But trauma, including critical injuries to his brain, spine, and lungs, as well as numerous broken bones, proved too much for Green, and he died early Tuesday morning, according to the Caring Bridge site maintained by his family.
In a message to friends and family, they thanked everyone for support for Green and added, "We know that he is with God and is now at peace."
It is not believed there were any other vehicles involved in the crash, nor were there any eye witnesses. The report of the accident came from a resident who heard the crash and the sound of a car horn.
The Shafer Fire Department, Lakes Area Police Department, and Chisago County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash.
