Tiger wrestlers oust Braham

The Rush City boys wrestling team defeated crosstown foe Braham by 10 points Dec. 15 at home.
In the 189 weight class division, Alex Mayen upset Tyler Johnson of Braham 9-8 while Luke Carlson bumped up two weight classes to help earn the win.
"It is always a tough match with Braham because Joe Rajkowski does a nice job with the kids over there," head coach Tim Bowland said.

Before the matchup with Braham, the Tigers hosted Hinckley-Finlayson Dec. 12 and lost 38-42.
"When you have to forfeit some weights you really need to win the flip at the beginning of the match ... we didn't and we lost in the last match of the night," Bowland said. "The kids are working hard and we will win some duals and if these kids stay together, in the next couple of years they are going to be very successful."
