Man found dead on North Center Lake


The scene on North Center Lake as deputies and emergency workers find the body of a deceased male.

On Friday, Feb. 10, at approximately 12:12 p.m. the Chisago County Sheriff's Office received a phone call from an ice fisherman that there was a person lying on the ice near a fish house on North Center Lake in Center City.

The caller said the person had possibly hit a fish house on his snowmobile and may be deceased.

Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call. An adult male was found deceased on the ice near the fish house a short distance from his snowmobile.

The coroner arrived around 1 p.m. and the body was removed from the lake around 1:45 p.m.

It was determined the subject had been riding his snowmobile between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday evening on the North Center Lake and had struck the fish house with a portion of his snowmobile and his body, killing him.
The subjects name is not being released, pending notification of next of kin.
