East Central Energy invites cooperative members to special workshops to learn how to conserve energy and save money. To provide the latest information about how to save money on energy, the cooperative presents two Super Saver Saturday events in February.
Each will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The first will be presented February 4 at Pine City High School, Pine City, Minn. Another will be offered February 18 at the Isle Recreational and Education Center (old high school) in Isle, Minn.
Admission is free, food and refreshments will be provided and ECE members may enter a grand prize drawing for an Energy StarÆ-rated refrigerator or washer-dryer combination.
East Central Energyís trusted energy advisors will be on hand to discuss money-saving heating and cooling programs, energy conservation and efficiency. Each event features free take-home materials plus short seminars on energy-saving ECE programs, home energy conservation tips and EnergyStarÆ appliances and rebates. There will also be a kidsí program with fun games and prizes and gifts for them too.
ìWeíre here to help ECE members squeeze the most out of their electricity dollars,î says Greg Kvasnicka, energy services manager for East Central Energy. ìBy showing people how to improve energy efficiency, we can help them keep their electric bills affordable even though energy costs continue to rise.î
He points out that the simple act of replacing the five most frequently used light fixtures in the home, or the bulbs in them, with EnergyStarÆ lighting can save as much as $60 a year in energy costs. Each ECE member attending Super Saver Saturday will receive a free compact fluorescent light bulb to begin saving energy and money right away.
