EZ ldps for wool and mohair producers
Wool and mohair producers will find applying for commodity loans and loan deficiency payments (LDPs) for the wool, mohair and unshorn pelts a little EZer this year thanks to the Farm Service Agencyís new CCC-633 EZ form.
The EZ form will take the place of the older CCC-633 PELT and CCC-709 PELT forms, according to Mike Stevens, county executive director for the Isanti/Chisago County Farm Service Agency.
ěPage one of the EZ form takes the place of the 709 PELT form,î said Stevens, ěand indicates the producerís intention to receive LDP benefits later on. Itís important that producers complete EZ page one before losing beneficial interest in the commodity.î
Stevens recommended that producers complete page one of the EZ form as soon as possible and include all of their 2006 crop year wool, mohair and unshorn pelts.
ěOnce page one of the EZ form is completed, the producer can request benefits any time during the period that loans or LDPs are available, before or after losing beneficial interest.î
Grain growers have used the CCC-633 EZ since last August, when it was introduced by the Farm Service Agency. After completing page one of the form, grain growers were required to complete page two when they wanted to apply for an LDP.
The CCC 633 EZ is now being revised to accommodate requests for LDPs for wool, mohair and unshorn pelts.
ěPage four of the revised EZ form will be specifically for wool and mohair producers to request an LDP.î
Until the revised EZ form is available, Stevens said, the county office staff will accept requests for wool and mohair LDPs on CCC-633 EZ, page two, as long as page one was previously submitted.
When the revised CCC-633 EZ is issued, it and the eLDP online request will be the only methods available to request and obtain LDPs.
