Sleigh rides to benefit Wisconsin man

Posted: 1/11/06

On Nov. 25, 2005 news spread quickly about Steve Litzkowís accident as he drove his buggy home after participating in Taylors Falls Lighting Festival parade.

Within half an hour of the news, Maggie Kuusisto and Jeff Frisco of Amador Clydesdale Farm, also participants in the Lighting Festival, had decided they wanted to do a Sleigh Ride Benefit to help Steve replace his horse, Star, who was killed.

The Sleigh Ride Benefit takes place Saturday, Jan.14, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Amador Clydesdale Farm located 8 miles west of Taylors Falls (toward North Branch), the first farm south of Hwy. 95 on County Road 81. It is just west of Palmdale and the Threshing Party property. A minimum of two sleighs will be going all afternoon. Sleighs or wagons, depending on the snow cover, pulled by teams of clydesdales will give rides around the property, so come dressed for the weather and fun. Friends of Steve will serve food and beverages, and Star Shine the clown will do balloon fun to entertain the kids. Suggested minimum donation for a sleigh ride is $10 per person or $25 for families with younger children. For more information, call Maggie at (651) 583-2824.

If you are unable to attend , you are invited to send a donation to the Steve Litzkow Trust, c/o The RiverBank, 2183 U.S. Highway 8, St. Croix Falls, WI 54024.
