Doris M. Colliander

Doris Myrtle Colliander, the daughter of Herman and Ethel (Robertson) Anderson, was born Feb. 10, 1925 on the family farm in Rushseba Township, Chisago County, Minn. She was baptized at home the following November.

Doris attended the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City, Minn. and was confirmed there in 1939 by Pastor Theodore Conrad. She was a graduate of Rush City High School.

She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, and over the years she held several different offices and attended several conventions. An active member of her church, she held several different offices and worked with the quilters and study groups. She was also interested in local history and was a member of the North Chisago Historical Society, often supporting the group by working for them at the Chisago County Fair.

Her family was special to Doris, and she remembered each of them at Christmas time by making and giving her homemade candy as gifts.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Colliander of Harris, Minn.; brother and sister-in-law: Robert ìRabsî and Audrey Anderson of Rush City; brother-in-law: Lloyd (Lois) Colliander of Harris; sisters-in-law: Dagmar and Marvin Heller of St. Paul, Minn. and Millie and Pete Moline of Bloomington, Minn.; nieces and nephews: Cindy Bodell, Val (Dan) Larson, Rocky (Julie) Bodell, Julie Bodell, Lisa (Tim) Morris, Lowell (Lori) Colliander, Linda (David) Murray, Mel (Vicki) Colliander, Maureen (John) Davis, Lori and Steve Olson, Joan (John) Evans, Craig (Rhonda) Moline.
