On Saturday, Jan. 14, the official grand opening ceremony will be held for the new Chisago Lakes Area Library.
There will be a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be followed by a special visit from award-winning childrenís and young adult author Jane Yolen.
Yolen will be giving a presentation at 11 a.m. Visitors will be entertained by local musicians at noon. At 1 p.m., Sunshine the Clown will perform.
The building currently holds 18,500 items, but has a capacity for 45,000 items. The library has a quiet reading area with a fireplace, study rooms, internet computers and wireless access.
The Chisago Lakes Area Library is in Center City at 11754 302nd St. just off Hwy. 8 and Shoquist Lane next to the Fairview Chisago Lakes Clinic.
Stop by and meet the new Chisago Lakes branch librarian, Heidi Berg and the rest of the Chisago Lakes Public Library staff including Anne Doble, Kathie Evingson and Laura Anderson.
