Shoreland workshops to be held in the area

Invasive plant species, shoreland development, and increased nutrients are threatening the health of our lakes and rivers. Find out what you can do to help keep the water clean and improve fish and wildlife habitat by attending the following workshops.
Introduction to Shoreland Landscaping - These workshops will emphasize a holistic approach to shoreland vegetation. Participants will be able to make sound shoreland management decisions and design a re-vegetation project of their choice. Select one of these dates:
ï Friday, July 14, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Cambridge, DNR Offices (800 Oak Savanna Lane SW). This workshop includes an emphasis on Curly Leaf Pondweed: what it is, how to identify, solutions.
ï Saturday, July 15, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Center City, Chisago County Courthouse (Room 142, 313 No. Main St.)
The cost of these workshops are $10 each.
Shoreland Best Management Practices ñ This is a great introduction to how lakes and rivers work. Youíll learn about how shoreline activities affect water quality, shoreland regulations, techniques for reducing erosion, stewardship practices and communication techniques.
ï Saturday, Aug. 5, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wyoming Town Hall (7665 Wyoming Trail, Co. Rd. 22) Pre-registration is required for these workshops ñ 20 participant limit.
