Alma Rose Studer
Alma Rose Studer, age 94 of North Branch, Minn., died on July 11, 2006 at the Jim and Nancy Elder Care in Isanti, Minn.
Alma was born on April 24, 1912 in Dexter Township, Minn. to Otto and Hannah (Baumgartner) Goetsch. She was one of eight children in the family. Alma was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran in rural Dexter, Minn. She attended parochial school for several years in a one-room school house across the road from the church.
Alma was married to Hugh Dexter. They farmed near Bluegrass and Wadena, Minn. Alma and Hugh lovingly cared for numerous foster children. Hugh preceded Alma in death.
Alma married Roy Studer in 1960. They lived in Stewartville and Brownsdale, Minn. prior to moving to North Branch in the late 1960s. Alma was very involved in Stanley Home Products demonstrations winning many awards and promotion to District Manager.
Alma and Roy sold the farm near North Branch and moved to Hackensack. They spent many winters in Tucson, Ariz. and summers fishing in Hackensack.
On July 1, 1987 Roy passed away so Alma moved back to North Branch in 1988. She resided at Shields Plaza until 2004. Alma moved to Struwve Elder Care Home near Isanti in 2005.
Alma enjoyed singing with the senior group at various nursing homes and community events. She enjoyed meeting people and traveling places in bus trips.
We will all remember Alma and her many hats. She had at least one hat for every occasion and outfit. She was known to her many friends as ์the Hat Lady.๎
Alma has been a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch since her return from Hackensack.
Alma is survived by two step-children, Delmas and wife Darlene Studer of North Branch, Lavonne Bean and husband Ray of Coon Rapids, foster son Richard and wife Dorene Eckman of Wasill, Ark. and sister Rose Heikes of Clara City, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Loren Mellum officiating. Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
