As a boy, Jesse Mohr spent a lot of time pitching baseballs against his grandparentsí (Allen and Mary Ramberg of Rush City) shed. Now as a 32-year-old man, he is pitching a new electrical firm specializing in small commercial and residential projects of all kinds.
After eight years of working as an electrician for a host of reputable companies, the ex-combat engineer and graduate of St. Cloud Technical College is looking forward to the challenge. ěThe time is right, right now,î said Mohr on Friday.
For most of the last decade, Mohr has worked for a host of established companies where he has seen all manner of problems and projects. Those companies include some very recognizable names like Commonwealth, Hunt, Collins, J. Becker, Northern Air, Comtech, and Prestige.
Along the way, Mohr also dedicated himself to night school at St. Paul Technical College, where he spent four years adding to his knowledge as part of his apprenticeship program. In December of 2002, Mohr attained his journeymanís license.
While the schooling he received is certainly an asset, Mohr looked back on the last eight years and described the valuable experience he gained on the job dealing with an endless variety of projects. ěIíve done everything from rewiring condemned houses in Minneapolis and St. Paul to million dollar homes in the suburbs, and everything in between,î he said.
Now, Mohr wants to put that experience to work in an area that he loves. ěWe have lived in Forest Lake, Wyoming, and Linwood since 1998,î said Mohr, who along with his wife Michelle and two-year-old son Charlie, decided on Linwood to build their family home. They are also active in the community. Mohr coaches youth soccer in Pine City and the family is members of St. Peterís Catholic Church in Forest Lake.
As an electrician, Mohr has seen his fair share of poor craftsmanship and describes safety as the greatest benefit to hiring a professional to complete any job. ěEven when something works you have to make sure it isnít a safety hazard. Iíve seen a lot of work that is not safe. People get hurt and houses burn down.î
For Mohr, a safe job is his number one priority. ěFrom me people will get a safe, clean job, and it will be done in a timely manner. Think of it as big city quality with small town pricing.î
Mohr, a member of the IBEW 110 in St. Paul, specializes in small commercial projects, all residential work, service upgrades and remodeling projects. Licensed, bonded, and insured, J. Mohr Electric can be reached at (651) 462-5413. Or e-mail any questions to Jesse at jmohrelectric@frontiernet.net.
