Parmly receives ëMajestic Oakí award

Parmly Senior Housing & Services received Ecumenís first ěMajestic Oakî award. on Thursday, May 11 at the companyís annual Leadership Conference. The presentation of this award acknowledged Parmlyís role in helping other senior housing communities within Ecumen adapt their innovative end-of-life care program called ěAngel Care.î The program is now standard care at the end of lifeís journey at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, Minn., and L.O. Simenstad in Osceola, Wisc.

ěThe Parmly Campus is a leader in providing home for older adults and the Majestic Oak award recognizes that leadership and Parmlyís commitment to collaboration,î said Ecumen CEO and president Kathryn Roberts. ěWeíre extremely proud to bestow this first Majestic Oak award to them.î

ěAngel Careî offers the very best compassionate care at a difficult time for residents and their families - when death is imminent. An angel sticker is placed on the door and signals the beginning of a series of supportive measures for the resident, the family and the direct care staff intended to provide a peaceful environment, rich with emotional and spiritual support.

To commemorate their achievement, a red oak tree,
signifying strength and growth, was donated to Parmly by Ecumen and planted at an official tree planting ceremony outside of the chapel on Tuesday, June 6.

ěWe are blessed at Parmly to have such a great team of people who are dedicated to our residents and tenants and their campus living experienceî said Mary Cordts. ěWe are honored to be the first winner of the ěMajestic Oakî award.î
