Irene Mary Rudolph (Sommerfield), age 92, died on Sunday, June 4, 2006, in Bemidji, Minn.

Irene was born on April 26, 1914 in Lismore, Minn., to Paul and Katherine (Broich) Sommerfield.

She married Clayton J. Rudolph on June 14, 1936. She was in the clothing business with her husband in Bird Island and Henning. They moved to Brooksville, Florida in 1960, and later to Chandler, Ariz. in the 1980ís. Summers were spent at their Ottertail Lake home. She and her husband moved to North Branch, Minn., in 1996 and then to Bemidji in 2004.

Irene loved spending time with her family and friends. Her interests included participating in various church activities, playing piano and organ, bridge and other card games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Clayton L., her sister, Helen, and brothers, Clifford and Raymond.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton J., her daughters Barbara (Orrin) Rinke, Sandra (Rick) Rothausen, and Debra James, her sister, Beverly (Lawrence) Stassen, eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch, with Rev. Loren Mellum officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
