RentWise teaches responsible renting
The University of Minnesota Extension Service will hold a RentWise train-the-trainer workshop in Mora, Minn. on Monday, June 12.
The RentWise training is for staff and volunteers from service agencies, education, faith communities and others working with families on housing issues.
The goal of the RentWise train-the-trainer workshop is to equip trainers to teach and mentor different audiences in work and community settings. Upon being trained, teach tenants the basics of being a responsible renter and communicating with the landlord. RentWise is a certificate program which can assist renters in understanding what to look for in potential rental units, how to complete application forms, provide references and becoming knowledgeable regarding their responsibilities as a renter and how to communicate with a landlord.
Participants will receive the RentWise Facilitator Manual and RentWise Renterís Workbook/Organizer at the workshop.
Cost: $10.00 per person. Limited scholarships are available.
Lunch will be on your own.
Location: Kanabec County Public Service Building, 905 E. Forest Ave., #101, Mora, MN 55051.
Times: Registration: 9:30 a.m. Workshop: 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
