An incident at North Branch High School on Thursday, June 8, marred what should have been an occasion of exuberance for all. Just before 3 p.m. on the final day of school, Alexandra Klarich, 17, sustained an injury to her left leg when she was pinched between two cars in the parking lot.
According to Police Chief Jules Zimmer, a driver was backing out of a parking space and, when the driver turned the wheel to back into the lane, Klarich was momentarily caught between the moving car and the car parked just to the left.
Klarich was initially transported by Lakes Region EMS to Fairview Lake Regional Health Care in Wyoming for treatment. She was later transported to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities for further treatment. The extent of the injuries to her leg are unknown at this time.
