Central Chev teams with Timberwolves

Central Chevrolet in North Branch, the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation, and Minnesota FoodShare are teaming up to re-supply food to depleted food shelves across the state of Minnesota.

Throughout this month, Timberwolves fans have the opportunity to drop off non-perishable food items or cash donations at participating Select Heartland Chevy Dealerships. Fans making donations will receive a voucher good for three free tickets with the purchase of one $24 ticket. The voucher can be used for one of six upcoming Timberwolves games.

On April 1 the food collected will be loaded up and driven to Target Center, where Timberwolves FoodShare spokesman and guard Anthony Carter will assist in loading FoodShare trucks with the donated food. Also, the Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation and Chevrolet dealers will make a donation of $5,000 to Minnesota FoodShare.

ìI am proud to represent the Timberwolves as a part of this great cause,î said Carter. ìIt is always important to assist those less fortunate, and working with Minnesota FoodShare is a great opportunity to do so.î

This yearís goal is to surpass the 8.3 million pounds/dollars of food collected during the 2005 campaign for Minnesota food shelves. This is the ninth year the Timberwolves have participated in Minnesota FoodShareís annual food drive.

For 24 years, Minnesota FoodShare has worked with food shelves to organize the largest food and cash drive to help feed the hungry in the state. The March campaign is responsible for supplying more than half of all food shelves in the state.

Fans looking to donate non-perishable items can visit www.ChevyDealOnline.com, or www.timberwolves.com for a dealership near them.
