NB woman is woman of the year for driver education training

The Driving School Association of the Americaís (DSAA) announced the winner of the Cathy Hensel Woman of the Year Award for 2005 at its annual Conference and Convention held at the San Diego Hilton.

It was Debbie Prudhomme of Training Wheels Driver Education in Minneapolis/St. Paul. This award is presented annually to the woman who has contributed the most toward the betterment of the driving school profession during the year.

Prudhomme has been involved with Training Wheels Driver Education, Minnesotaís largest and most progressive driving school, since 1996.

Prudhomme and her husband, Mark, live in North Branch, and provide driver education programs throughout the state.

Prudhomme has championed many causes for the driving school industry on the state and national level since she began her involvement in traffic safety education.

In 1997 she founded the Association for Professional Driving Instruction in Minnesota (APDIM) to support the professionals in the field of traffic safety education in Minnesota.

In 1998 Prudhomme was behind the charge that led to the implementation of Minnesotaís first Graduated Drivers License law.

And, she has worked with many of Minnesotaís premier safety organizations to develop and implement innovative programming for the young novice driver.
