The North Branch boysí basketball split their two games last week. On Feb. 21 they defeated Amery in overtime 66-62 at home. Jake Chambers led the Vikings with 20 points on the strength of a six of 13 shooting performance. Chambers also finished with five rebounds and an assist.

Nick Perrin added 16 points, six boards, and two assists.

The game could have gone either way at any time. All told, with three lead changes and six ties over the course of the night.

In the second half the Vikings shot 52 percent from the floor and managed to stay on top of the Warriors down the stretch. The outcome was in doubt for the Vikings at times though. With only two minutes remaining in the game, North Branch was down by three. However, six points from Chambers and seven from Perrin brought it home in the final moments.

On Feb. 23 the Vikings lost to Spring Lake Park 50-60 on the road. It was their last away game of the season.

Nick Perrin and John Lindstrom led the Vikings with 15 points. Perrin nine of his points from four of five from behind the arc. Spring Lake Park dominated the Vikings on the boards grabbing 39 rebounds which resulted in 19 second chance points. The Vikings shot a disappointing 25 percent from the floor for the game. They were impressive from behind the arc. For the game the Vikings shot 68 percent on 11 of 16.

The Vikings are 3-9 in the North Suburban Conference.
