North Branch assistant girlís basketball coach Brian Hasleiet was named the section 6AAA assistant coach of the year. This is the second time he has won the award.

ìI think he is the best assistant coach in the state,î Vikings head coach Dan Schindler said.

Hasleiet has been coaching at North Branch since he began teaching 12 years ago. Hasleiet, who teaches business education, started coaching ninth grade boys and eventually became assistant varsity coach. He also coaches track and cross country.

Hasleiet said the players make everything worth it. The kids make it fun, he said.

ìI am honored to work with coach Schindler and this program,î he said.
