Mary Josephine Lofgren, 50, of Harris died May 14, 2006 of complications from cancer at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

Mary Jo was born Jan. 18, 1956 at St. Johnís Hospital in St. Paul. Her family resided in Hugo and moved to Harris in May of 1968.

She graduated from Rush City High School in 1974, and married Merle (Pete) Lofgren on June 14, 1975. They bought their farm in 1978; where they raised their three children. She completed two years of schooling at the Cambridge Community College, and became a Paraprofessional at the North Branch Middle School where she enjoyed working with children for 14 years.

Mary loved many things. She enjoyed the outdoors, turtles, rocks, flowers, birds, fishing, the church, and motorcycle rides, but most of all making people smile. She also traveled to many places with Pete, and made friends from Alaska to Brazil and in between. Mary had a strong faith and was an inspiration to many. Her greatest gift was her ability to make the best out of any situation.ÝShe has touched so many people in so many ways. She will be truly missed.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Merle (Pete)Ç Lofgren; children: ÝJenny Lofgren, Jerry Lofgren, and Joe Lofgren; future son-in law Tom Wolvers, and daughter-in-law Steffie Lofgren; grandchildren: Trevor and Tyler Wolvers; sisters: Linda Gregoire, Tony McCoy, Lois Brandjord, and Lori Wick; Brothers-in-law: Henry Gregoire, Rick Brandjord, and Phil Wick; mother-and father-in-law Arvid and Joyce Lofgren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; and many more friends.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Rachel (Wilcox) LaMotte.

Mary Joís visitation will be Thursday, May 18, from 4-9 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City, and her funeral Friday May 19, at 2 p.m., at the First Lutheran Church of Harris officiated by Rev. Michael Likens.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service ìOlson Chapelî of Rush City, Minn.
