Ramberg breaks school record in 800

A few seconds here or there would have edged the Vikings past Grand Rapids at the True Team meet May 9 in North Branch.
The Vikings came in second place by four points.
Junior Nick Ramberg continued his Steve Prefontaine running. Ramberg broke the school record in the 800 with a time of 158.19.

The North Branch girls were 48 points shy of first place team Grand Rapids at the True Team meet in North Branch May 9. North Branch scored 282 points.
ìThe Grand Rapids girls were just awesome in this meet,î head coach Brian Hasleiet said. ìWhen we did well in an event, they just seemed to be a little bit better or they were right behind us ...î
Hasleiet added that Grand Rapids had a more consistent performance.
For North Branch, Ali Zimmerman, a seventh grader, moved to second all-time in the mile run with a time of 5:28. Eighth grader Sara Swanson set a school record in the 400 with a time of 100.46.
