Vikings shoot lowest round in years

The North Branch girls golf team was all smiles as it recorded its lowest team score in years by defeating Fridley by 57 strokes on May 10. The score was 182-239.

ìThe smiles on the faces of juniors Kelsey Johnson and Amy Aho were visible from 200 yards away,î head coach Dave Ambers said.

Jeni Farr shot a 50, her best of the season.

ìThe Vikings hope that this performance will serve as a springboard to vault them to good scores in the upcoming North Suburban Conference and Section 7AA tournaments,î Ambers said.

The following day the girls faced a tough Spring Lake Park team. The Panthers are undefeated in the NSC. The Vikings lost 193-210.

ìThe girls were not happy with their individual scores or the team total,î Ambers said. ìItís a healthy thing that they now believe they are capable of doing better.î

Boys golf

The North Branch boyís golf team lost to Fridley May 10, 182-164.
