Ahoís low scores lead Vikings; boyís topple Cooper


Lacee Scherer hits a ball out of the sand trap. The North Branch Boys and girls golf team played Cooper April 27 at the North Branch golf course.

The Vikings girlís golf team placed seventh out of 19 teams at the Purple Hawk Invitational April 24. It was the Vikings first 18-hole meet of the season. Head coach Dave Ambers was happy with their performance. ìThey should be complimented for their performance.î

Two days later, on April 26, the Vikings traveled to Chisago Lakes to play the Wildcats. The Vikings won by one stroke 210-211.

For their third meet of the week, the Vikings stayed home and hosted Cooper. The Vikings played under near perfect weather conditions and defeated the Hawks 215-238 to improve to 4-1 in the North Suburban Conference. Lacee Scherer earned medallist honors.

ìJenni Farr and Katie Foley continued to play steady golf and Amy Aho, despite an off day, contributed to the team score,î Ambers said.

BOYíS GOLF

The North Branch boyís golf team lost on April 19 to Chisago Lakes 183-161.
Brad Peters led the boys with a score of 41.
