Celebration planned for Victory Lane

There is a new face in vehicle maintenance in North Branch. Victory Lane Quick Oil Change opened for business last week and owner Mick Ruffini, Stillwater, couldnít be more excited.
For him and his wife and business partner Rhonda, it is the end of the beginning of an idea they had two years ago when they bought into the Ann Arbor Mich., based company. Since then they have been combing the area for a suitable location. The site they settled on, located on the north-east corner of Hwy. 95 and I-35, marks their first opening.
While the opening changes the landscape of the North Branch business community, it had no affect on the employees of the previous business, known as Havoline Fast Lube, located there. Ruffini rehired all, including manager Lenny Lindman. So, along with an increase in available services patrons will continue to enjoy the friendly customer service they have grown accustomed too.
To celebrate his first opening, Ruffini is inviting one and all to a grand opening on Sat. May 6, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to be held on location. Hot rod and car enthusiasts are encouraged to stop by and take part in the car show being planned. Registration is open to anybody who arrives before noon and vehicles could win awards in three categories, along with a Best in Show prize. Car show participants are encouraged to make a donation to North Branch Community Funds.
Also available on Saturday will be discounts on oil changes and a free windshield treatment with an oil change, using Aquapel. Hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers, and soda will be served to visitors as well.
Victory Lane offers a full complement of basic maintenance services. Aside from oil changes, patrons can purchase window treatments, have their wiper blades replaced, tires rotated, transmissions and power steering flushed or light bulbs changed. Victory Lane will also perform a safety inspection on all bulbs and recharge air conditioning units.
A full line of system cleaners offer vehicle owners a chance to rid themselves of carbon buildup, varnishes and miscellaneous sludge that can be found in oil, intake, and fuel systems. Keeping these systems clean can improve performance and increase gas mileage.
There is a 24-hour automatic touchless car wash on site, and purchasers of an oil change can get a discount on a wash. Victory Lane also offers an ìearly bird specialî on oil changes between 7-9 a.m. weekday mornings.
Victory Lane is a first come, first serve business specializing in getting the job done. ìWe can usually get people in and out of here in about 10 to 15 minutes,î said Ruffini on Monday.
