Eighth grader Sara Swanson helps North Branch team

The North Branch girls track team placed second out of four teams at the Chisago Lakes Quad April 25. Eighth grader Sara Swanson was the highlight of the girls meet, head coach Brian Hasleiet said.
She won the 100 meter dash in 12.7, (the time placed her fifth all-time in NB track), was second in the 400 and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team with a split of 61.6.

At the Cambridge Invite the girls placed third out of ten teams. The 4x800 relay team broke the school record.
ìThe conditions were cold and rainy. Despite the conditions, we had some excellent performances, Hasleiet said.

The North Branch boys track team tied with St. Louis Park for second place with 39 points at the Chisago Quad track meet April 25. Hasleiet, said freshmen Mike Heidelberger had an impressive performance.
ìMike Heidelberger ran an unbelievable 3200 run,î he said. ìItís the first time heís ever run it, and he finished second with a great time of 10:36.6î
