NB kids went ėScouting for Foodķ
Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from all over the St. Croix Valley participated in ģScouting for Foodī Day Saturday, April 29. Braving the rain and wind, the scouts went door to door in the area asking for donations to the North Branch Food Pantry.
Brownie Troop 1173 collected 94 pounds,
Junior Girl Scout Troop 4 collected 130 pounds, and
Boy Scout Troop 411 collected a whopping 612 pounds and an anonymous $20 donation.
Boy Scout leader Todd Maki stated that many residents thanked the scouts for coming, as they did not often have time to run things over to the food pantry. With scouts collecting a grand total of 836 pounds of donated food, Maki is toying with the idea of repeating the effort sometime over the summer.
