Jared Houle, 13, from North Branch, holds a 10-point buck he shot in Northern Minnesota on opening weekend. (Last year he shot an 8-point buck.) Hunting is a family event for Houle. He hunts with his dad, grandpa, uncles and cousins. The young hunter has already hunted grouse, ducks, geese, pheasants, bear and deer. He hopes to someday hunt elk in Idaho with his grandpa Hal.
