District responds to Reisnouer resignation

Rodney Reisnouer

North Branch Area Public Schools Interim Superintendent Rodney Reisnouer announced Thursday that he plans to retire when his contract is fulfilled on June 30, 2007. The North Branch Area Public Schools Board of Education appointed Reisnouer as Interim Superintendent in 2005 for a period of two years; at that time Reisnouer was serving as Assistant Superintendent. Reisnouer joined the school district in 1993 and has worked with all staff members in some capacity during his tenure in North Branch.

ěRodney has served the school district well for the past 13 years as teacher, Special Education director, principal, assistant superintendent and now as interim superintendent,î said school board chairman Kim Salo.

ěHe stepped into the position two years ago at a time when the district needed proven leadership. He has helped us navigate the tough waters of budget adjustments, the opening of a new school, multiple contract negotiations and the continued implementation of state and federal academic mandates.î

ěSuperintendent Reisnouer has led this school district well in the past year and a half. As a school board we couldnít be happier with the way in which he communicates with all stakeholders. From teachers to office clerks, from bus drivers to principals and administrators and school board, we have all been inspired by his student-focus, encouraged by his desire to make North Branch the best district it can be with the resources it has in place and calmed by his grace under pressure during challenging contract negotiations and student crises within our schools,î said Salo.

ěWe thank Interim Superintendent Reisnouer for his continued service and dedication to the district and look forward to working with him through the end of his contract in June. It is our hope that working together we will further develop relationships and connections with staff, research and advocate for more equitable funding of our school district and continue efforts to engage our communities.î

The school board appointed a superintendent searchsub-committee to develop a plan and process to seek a new superintendent for the school district. The committee will report back to the full school board in December with a recommendation as to how the school board should proceed.
