Home tours, dancing part of TF Lighting Festival

The 1855 W.H.C. Folsom house is in holiday trimming for Taylors Falls Lighting Festival, Nov. 24 - 26. Eight rooms are decorated by professional designers incorporating the theme ìRiver Boats and River.î Carols will be sung at the grand piano and you can enjoy this house museum on your own.

The Folsom House is located at 272 W. Government Street in the Angels Hill Historic District with 38 1850-1890 buildings.

Christmas at the Folsom House is Friday through Sunday on two weekends. Nov. 24 it is open for guests 1 p.m. - 9 p.m., Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Nov. 26 and Dec. 1, 2 and 3 the hours are 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. Admission to the house is $3 for adults and $1 for ages 6 - 17. Pre-arranged groups are welcome to visit the house starting Nov. 24 through Dec. 3 by calling (651) 465-3125.

The 1869 Bullard - Daubney House, a privately owned home will be decorated in traditional holiday trimmings to welcome guests. It will be open two days only during the Festival, Friday, Nov. 24, from 1 - 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m. - 7 p,m. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for students ages six - 17.

This yearís Lighting Festivalís theme is ìCelebrating 100 Years of Excursion Boats from Taylors Falls.î

The official festival opening is at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 with the Lighting of the Village and Santa Parade and closes Sunday the 26th with the St. Croix Valley Orchestra performing a winter concert at 4 p.m.

Other events included:

ï The Green Fire Irish Dancers will perform traditional jig hard-shoe and Irish folk dances at the Old Railroad Depot Memorial Community Center in Taylors Falls, Saturday, Nov. 25, 7 p.m. as the annual Lighting Festival winds to a close. Admission is free-will donation.

The community center is located at 312 W. Government Street, a block and a half up from the main downtown Taylors Falls intersection.
