North Branch Police Chief Steve Forner recently unveiled a new look for North Branch squad cars. Designed by Forner, the return to the ìblack and whiteî look is intended to make the cars stand out more. ìIt is easier for people to see us out there, to know where weíre at,î said Forner, who said his office has already received many calls complimenting the new old look. For now, it is just the two new 2007 model Ford Crown Victoriaís that boast the new look, which includes an OPTICOM sensor on the roof. The OPTICOM sensor allows squadís to change traffic lights, stopping opposing traffic, making passing through intersections safer for both the officer and the public. All new squad purchases will include the same look and gear.
