Rush City cross country ran at the Amery Invitational meet Oct. 4, with senior Josh Dahl finishing in 9th out of 162 varsity and junior varsity runners.

The junior high girls team placed 5th out of 14 teams.

ìRunners are learning to push themsevles the last third of the race when fatigue is building up,î head coach Kevin Smith said.
Smith also said many Rush City runners finished between the top 10 and 15 percent.

After the Amery meet, the Tigers travled north for the Swain Invitational Meet at Enger Park golf course in Duluth.
ìAll runners put fourth a good performance, but the competition was too strong to break into the medal winners,î head coach Kevin Smith said. ìThe kids gained valuable experience which we hope they can apply in future races.î
