Community Partnership improv troupe looking for members
Community Partnershipís national award-winning Improv Theatre program is looking for new students.
Improv troupe members develop and present real-life scenarios to audiences of all ages. A typical Improv performance consists of four scenarios, each one followed by a problem-solving discussion by the audience. Troupe members do not need to be theater kids and a cross section of youth from our communities is recommended. There are non-speaking parts for those kids too shy to speak in front of a crowd.
All new troupe members are invited to attend a three-day training in Alexandria Oct. 19-21.
Upon returning from the training, the commitment consists of once a month get-togethers (usually after school or in the evening) and an occasional performance (during school or in the evening).
Youths from over 45 communities in Minnesota, seven communities in Alaska and one in suburban Chicago have participated in the youth leadership training through the years. The training has been depicted as ëlife-changingí by most participants, and is guaranteed to be fun.
Youths from other communities will be in attendance in Alexandria. For more information, contact Community Partnership at (651) 674-4085.
