To stop the bullying
The NB community turned out in force at Sunrise River School last Thursday morning to applaud students leaving an assembly dedicated to the reduction of bullying. It marked the kick-off of ėGet on Board, Be a Lifesaver,î an adaptation of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. Principal Sara Svir said staff was very touched by the turnout, ėsome to the point of tears.î Community involvement is very important, she added, because it sends the message that bullying is not acceptable, not just at school but communitywide, in a positive way.
