Almelundís Apple Festival this weekend

Fall, apples and Almelund, what a terrific combination.

Itís time for the 12th annual Almelund Apple Festival, Sunday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Events take place at the Amador Heritage Center and Swedish Immigrant Log Farm, located near intersection of County Road 12 and Hwy. 95 between North Branch and Taylors Falls.

There will be signs to follow.

Here you will find apple everything, just about: hot apple butter ice cream sundaes, hot apple butter on homebaked bread, scrumptious apple desserts, caramel apples, apple cider and local orchards will have apples for you to purchase by the bag.

And there will be hourly entertainment, an organ grinder, popcorn wagon, and special childrenís events.

In addition, visit the museum displays, the quilt display in the 1869 log cabin, take a horse-drawn wagon ride or a Model-T ride, see the tool display, craft demonstrations and lots more.

The organizers say there is ìoodles of family fun for everyone.î

This is a fund-raiser for Friends of Amador Heritage Center and all proceeds go toward reconstruction of pre-1900 Swedish log structures.
