TO THE EDITOR:

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to express to the family my deepest regrets on the death of Corporal Benson.

I have received the the daily bulletins from the Department of Defence since March of 2003. I feel it is my duty to recognize those brave men and women who have given their all in service to our great country by reading their names and saying a prayer for them and their families.

It always with a heavy heart that I read of a recouperating soldier who passes on. I always say a special prayer for the family of those whose angst I can only imagine and wish them courage.

It is with the utmost respect and admiration that I send a simple message of solidarity with the family of this brave and valiant soldier who has fallen on the battlefield and now is home with so many of his brothers and sisters in arms.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Benson for the service your son gave to our great nation. It is an honor to express my condolences to an American family that has given the ultimate.

May Our Lord help to bring you peace and may the soul of Corporal Benson rest in peace, amen.
