By Steve Morris
On Sept. 5 the North Branch Volleyball team beat Cambridge Isanti at home 3-0. The girls won 25-20, 25-20- and 25-4.
It was the Vikings first win of the season.
ìWe had all members of the team contribute,î head coach Kari Francis said. ìIt was a great team win.î
Seniors were the key to the victory Francis said. Megan Ranger, Tess Prouty-Kunshier and Kacie Ramberg led the team.
Ramberg and Ranger each had nine kills apiece. Lindsey Hilde and Hannah Franzmeier each notched their first varsity kills.
The Vikings kept their momentum going and defeated Benilde St. Margaret 3-2. The sets were: 18-25, 27-25, 25-13, 25-27, 15-12.
It was their first conference win of the year. Ranger led the team in kills with 17. Ramberg added 13 kills for the Vikings.
ìThe first conference win was not easy,î Francis said. ìThe win will help build character and confidence for the next time we are in a game five.î
