Primary results are in and local fields have been narrowed for the general election in November. Two local primaries which generated interest were the primaries for County Commissioner District 2 and the race for County Attorney.

With 52.41 percent of the vote (370), Richard Greene won the primary, follwed by Bill Rice, who garnered 22.66 percent of the vote (160). They will face each other in the general election.

In the county attorney race, Janet Reiter won with 38.26 percent of the vote (1351), followed by Timothy Ryan with 36.76 percent (1298). Incumbent Katherine Johnson was eliminated with 882 votes. Reiter and Ryan will face each other in November.

In North Branch, two seats are open for council, those of Amy Oehlers and Kathy Blomquist, plus the mayorís seat is up for re-election this year.

Filing for council: Peter Holmes, Jim Vrchota, Randy Larson, Kathy Blomquist, and Amy Oehlers.

Filing for mayor: Gloria Karsky, Joni Monk.

In Rush City, three council seats are up for election, plus the mayor.

Filing for (2) four-year council: Nancy Schroeder, David Bengtson, Jerry Janssen, Nic Malchow.

Filing for two-year council: Jamie Mold, Daniel Szymanski.

Filing for mayor: Mike Skalsky, Jim Ertz.

In Harris, two council seats are up for election, plus the mayor.

Filing for (2) four-year council: Rodney Larson, Richard Long, Kathy Olson, Douglas Payne, John Pelant. (Harris originally reported Judy Olson for council. That has been changed to Kathy Olson.)

Filing for mayor: Larry Nelson, Rick Smisson, Marvin Stai (John Perron has reportedly dropped out of the race.)

In Stacy, two four-year council seats are open, plus the mayor.

Filing for (2) four-year council: Tony Olivolo, Barb Avalosi, Jeff Sovich.

Filing for two-year council: Richard Schultz, Mario Schlect, Sr.

Filing for mayor: Michael Carlson, Mel Aslakson, John Daher.
