The Vikings soccer team had a tough week playing against the top teams in the North Suburban Conference. First, the Vikings fell to defending conference champions Spring Lake Park 11-0. The Vikings goal was to contain Spring Lake Parkís top scorer, Laura Hamer. The Vikings accomplished their gaol. However in doing so, other players were able to score.
Maggie Johnson received a red card 10 minutes into the second half for handling the ball in the penalty box. Thus, the Vikings had to play shorthanded for the remainder of the game.
On Sept. 7, the Vikings hosted Fridley and lost 4-0.
ìWe picked our game up and played much better ... but Fridley was just too fast,î said head coach Irv Geary.
