Please reread citizensí comments
TO THE EDITOR:
The orchestrated performance given by ìthe gang of threeî Council members, Monday night, was priceless.
They performed perfectly in front of a packed house. The only thing wrong with the performance was that most of the audience knew it was just that.
The ambush of councilors Oehlers and Furman seemed to backfire. Both have pushed all along for industry in the ESSBY Park. We have been paying a consultant firm high fees for industrial development to no avail. The problem is still the same - too high a price for the land.
So, letís compound it by burdening the infrastructure with more housing and let the taxpayers subsidize it. I certainly would have liked a $250,000 house and pay $130,000 for it. Does everyone deserve a place to live? Yes. Do they have to start at the top? No. There are plenty of rentals in this town to give a person a jump start. In a perfect world nobody would want for anything. This certainly isnít that.
The road some of this council has taken, and also past councils, has led us down the garden path to residential bankruptcy.
Now itís the blame game.
There has been mistrust on the council since the Green Acre saga when Councilor Blomquist misled constituents and other councilors. When trust is gone, there can be no respect.
The gang of three is just that and showed their true colors on Monday night. Donít be misled about their concern for the taxpayers ññ itís just an election ploy.
The survey remarks fell on deaf ears. Councilors Blomquist and Erickson said at last weekís worksession, that ìthe citizens donít understand our vision!î
Excuse me, please reread the citizens comments and revise it to the citizenís vision?!
