Clayton Jerome Rudolph
Clayton Jerome Rudolph, age 93, died on Sept. 2, 2006 at the Havenwood Health Care in Bemidji, Minn.
Clayton was born on Oct. 30, 1912 in Sacred Heart, Minn. to Lawrence and Maebell (Hagen) Rudolph.
On June 14, 1936 he married Irene Sommerfield. They Celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Clayton worked in Renville with his father in a menís clothing store. He opened his own store in Bird Island in 1939 which he operated for 10 years.
Clayton and his family moved to Henning where he purchased a clothing store which evolved into a family run business.
Because of Claytonís love for fishing, he bought property on Ottertail Lake where the whole family enjoyed many memorable times. Claytonís pastimes were fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching sports, playing cards and games with his family and friends.
He retired to Brooksville, Fla. and Chandler, Ariz. and eventually moved to North Branch, Minn., to be near his son Clayton. Due to failing health he moved to Bemidji, Minn.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene and son Clayton L.
He is survived by three daughters: Barbara (Orrin) Rinke, Sandra (Rick) Rothausen and Debra James; daughter-in-law Rhonda Rudolph; sister Gloria Heacox; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Loren Mellum officiating. Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
