RC students help feed the hungry
The Rush City High School Student Council put on a schoolwide food drive for the Rush City Food Shelf on March 22-28 to coincide with the National Food Drive Month. The food drive was set up as a contest among all first-hour classes with the class collecting the most items at the end of the week winning breakfast.
Mrs. Anderson's Spanish III class took first place by collecting 305 items. Mrs. Bengtson's 7th-grade math class placed second with 282 items and Ms. Capecchi's senior English class received third with 259 items. The grand total of items collected topped 1,824.
A special thank you goes to Student Council members Ben Cook, James Warfield and Kristin Peterson for their leadership and hard work helping collect the items from each classroom. Most importantly, thank you to all the students and staff members of Rush City High School who helped make the food drive so successful!
