It was a story tale way to start a senior season. Jake Bosman, one of Rush City's go to players, hit a three-run homer in his first at bat against Braham April 17.

The homer set the mood of the game as the Tigers rolled past the Bombers 11-1 in five innings.

Besides the lift at the plate, Bosman also pitched a complete game, giving up three hits, while striking out nine.

"We played pretty well considering it was our first game of the year," head coach Bob Schlagel said. "Bosman pitched well and our defense made the plays."

The Tigers didn't stop their assault after the Braham game. On April 19, the Tigers rolled past East Central 13-1 in five innings. Freshmen Justin Bosman, younger brother to Jake Bosman, earned his first varsity win on the mound on one hit, three walks and five strikeouts.

Rush City hiccuped in the first inning, committing three errors but were able to get settled into the rhythm of the game as innings passed by.

Sophomore shortstop James Fregien had five RBI's on the game, including a triple and single.

Rounding off the week of play, the Tigers traveled to play Pine City. Rush City played a solid all-around game, defeating the Dragons by a score of 9-2 on April 20.

Jake Bosman had the starting spot on the mound and had another solid performance, striking out nine and allowing two runs.

Schlagel was pleased with his team's performance on the diamond. He said they played their best all-around game of the season.

"If we get consistency in all areas we will be able to compete with everyone we play," he said.
