Ethel M. Boyce was born on Sept. 23, 1912 in Amador Township, Minn. to Andrew R. and Annie Sophie (Freedlund) Anderson. She was raised and attended school in the area. She married Maxwell L. Boyce on Sept. 22, 1938.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a Healthcare Aid for twenty years. She also worked for a short time at the Village Bakery. Ethel was a very active member of North Branch United Methodist Church for 56 years. She devoted many years volunteering for her church and community activities at Green Acres and helping with Meals on Wheels. Her many hobbies included letter writing, crossword puzzles; embroidering, Twins games and spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Annie; husband, Maxwell; sister, Nettie Koenig.

She is survived by her children; Gordon (Betty) of Hinckley; Gene (Nancy K.) of Mechanicsville, VA; Glen (Nancy L.) of North Branch; Hardy (Penny) of North Branch; Annette Dresel of Redwood Shores, CA; Diane (Steven) Perrault of North Branch; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel died on Friday, Aug. 10 at the Comforts of Home in North Branch at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 18 days.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at North Branch United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Kneen officiating. Pianist was Nancy Rampp and soloist was Evan Boyce. Interment was at Sunrise Cemetery in Sunrise Township. Arrangements were under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
