The Friends of the North Branch Library is hosting the 21st annual IMAGE 2007 Art Show at the North Branch library Oct. 20- 26.

Entries are invited from visual artists. Advanced registration is required by Sept. 28.

This is a judged art exhibition open to artists over 18 who live in Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine counties.

The East Central Arts Council (ECAC ) is now mailing entry forms to artists in the five-county area. If you are not on their mailing list you may request one by phoning the ECAC office, (320) 679-4065 extension 30, or by e-mailing ecac@ecrdc.org, or by visiting their Web site, www.region7erdc.org, (follow the links). There will also be some entry forms available at most local libraries in the five-county area.

A total of $2,700 in prize monies will be awarded to the winners of each category and Best in Show.

The seven categories of artwork are:

Oil/Acrylic/Mixed Media; Drawing/Pastel/Prints; Watercolor/Gouache/Casein/Tempera; Photography; Sculpture; Ceramics/glass; and Textile/Fibers.

Artists may enter one piece of original artwork. No entry fee required.

The annual Image show is made possible with funding provided by ECAC, and the ECRDC (East Central Regional Development Commission) through appropriations by the Minnesota State Legislature and the McKnight Foundation.

Also watch for information on the ARTrageous Celebration at the library which will be occurring in conjunction with the IMAGE Exhibition. Art demonstrations and performances are scheduled during regular library hours Monday through Friday Oct. 22 - 26.
