North Branch Area High School hosts new student orientation

North Branch Area High School will host a new student orientation on Aug. 28, for all students new to the high school for the 2007-08 school year.   Incoming freshmen, the class of 2011, and students new to the district are invited to visit the high school and become familiar with surroundings before the start of school. 

The orientation process provides students and parents with the necessary information to make a smooth and successful transition to the school.

 Two sessions will be held on Aug. 28
Students with last names beginning with the letter A-L are asked to attend at 6:30 p.m.; students with last names beginning with the letter M-Z are asked to attend at 7:30 p.m.  Both sessions will begin with a presentation in Edelstein Auditorium.

 The new student orientation will include the following:
• Tour the building with your class schedule
• Find your locker, check your combination and set it up for a great start
• Set up lunch accounts
•Meet your counselor
• Review bus schedules
• Review student-parent handbooks with district policies
• Review school district policies regarding attendance, dress code, nuisance devices, etc.
• Investigate opportunities to become involved in athletics and activities
• Review required student forms including the Internet Use Agreement and health form
• Be introduced to the Special Education program
• Hear first-hand experiences from a student speaker

School administrators invite students and parents to attend the North Branch Area High School 2007-08 New Student Orientation to prepare for a successful academic year.
