Grammy award winners performing at the Hardy Center

Grammy Award winning Jay Ungar and Molly Mason are coming to the Hardy Center in Cambridge. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 20. You just may want to get your tickets early for this performance at the Hardy Center by calling Community Education at (763) 689-6189.
Ungar and Mason garnered legions of fans through their appearances on Great Performances, A Prairie Home Companion, their own public radio specials, and work on film soundtracks such as Brother's Keeper, Legends of the Fall, and a host of Ken Burns documentaries.
Their performance of Jay's haunting composition "Ashokan Farewell", the musical hallmark of the PBS "The Civil War" series, earned the couple international acclaim. The soundtrack won a Grammy and "Ashokan Farewell," was nominated for an Emmy.
Once Ken Burns' "The Civil War" hit the airwaves, their fame skyrocketed because they touched the emotions of Civil War buffs and those who loved great traditional acoustic music.

They perform a variety of music and song from timeless renditions of Appalachian, Cajun and Celtic fiddle tunes, stirring Civil War classics, lively songs from the golden age of swing and country, stunning waltzes, to deeply moving original compositions. And they both sing.
